GRIEF de Florence Peyrard

Grief invite à une étrange traversée dansée : le chant y berce les fantômes, les silences du chagrin prennent corps en rebonds acrobatiques. Ce très court métrage explore, par le déploiement d’une réalité fantastique, les motifs complexes du deuil.

L’idée originale de ce film prend source dans l’oeuvre de C. Pinkola Estés, Femmes qui courent avec les loups (ed.1989). F. Peyrard souhaitait porter une certaine vision sur le deuil au travers du sauvage. M. Gozy a soutenu ses intuitions par son approche sensible de l’outil vidéo en soutien avec B. Fiche. Grâce à la jonction de l’image et de la danse contemporaine mis service de l’expression sensitive, Grief invite le public à faire escale dans une réalité troublée.

Grief unveils two different frames – a wild winter forest opposing a realistic domesticated winter garden. As the character’s mourning surfaces, both situations will merge due to the power of the character’s trauma. This short movie visually captures the state of confusion of grieving through a poetic language supported by the medium of contemporary dance. Grief invites the public to enter a fantastic reality where time loosens up to let the memories of the ghosts we cherish arise.

Grief’s original idea takes root in the discovery of C. Pinkola Estés’ book Women Who Run With the Wolves (ed. 1989). And from F Peyrard’s strong desire to share a certain vision of mourning through wilderness. M. Gozy supported these intuitions with his imagination and his sensitivity towards camera work assisted by B. Fiche’s technicity. This short movie is the result of the fusion between imaginaries and multiple artistic backgrounds.
